Yay, I have a blog!

Welcome to my blog, & to AliLu Studios. My name is Allison, and I am a custom floral & event designer based in West Central Minnesota. On a typical day, you'll find me working in my fuchsia studio overlooking a little creek and surrounded by tall birch trees, bunnies, and birds. My favorite part of my studio space is my pink & crystal chandelier that hangs over my consult table - made it myself & it's so girlie, love it!

Why am I so into weddings & special events? Well, those days just don't happen enough in any one person's lifetime, so what better way to keep the parties going than to plan them for, well, everybody! To see an event from the moment you start to plan, to the end of the party when the candles are all fizzing out & the cake crumbs cover those white linen tables, that is what makes my heart fill with joy & gives me the passion I need to want to do it over and over again.

It sounds fun, right? It totally is, but it is also such hard work (speaking to my brides out there), that you should seriously trust those of us who do this for a living - let us make it look easy, so you never have to feel the stress of wondering what your aunt was thinking when she made your bridal bouquet out of her potted petunias, or why your cousin "the photographer" forgot to save all of your wedding photos onto a disc before deleting them off of his laptop! (I've seen it happen - really, I have.) More on this topic in posts to come, I'm sure!
